Happy New Year! I hope you had an amazing 2016, we did here at MooMooSheep! It’s time to prepare for 2017, so here’s our prediction for digital marketing in 2017.
I’m going to be outlining some potential trends for the year ahead, and let you know what you can expect from MooMooSheep in the coming year.
The speed of a loading website is absolutely paramount to get optimum performance from a site. Your website visitors are fickle and will leave your site if it does not load quickly enough, this will see an increase in your bounce rate. If you have an e-commerce site, a slow checkout has a direct link to cart abandonment. It’s even more important now that mobile browsing has dominated the internet, your site needs to load quickly even on 3G!
2017 looks very promising for fixing these speed issues, with more research and resources being put into server technology. Google launched AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages), which is a great resource for creating super quick articles. While AMP is mainly for news stories and publishers, you can expect to see more of this kind of technology in 2017.
A basic look at digital marketing will be utilising different channels and platforms to get people to your site, which in turn will convert visitors to customers (buying online, making a phone call, signing up ect). In 2017, I’d expect to see more off-site conversions, by this I mean;
Completing your conversion goal without visiting your website. Purchasing items via social media platforms, make enquiries via search results etc
We’re already seeing the ability to purchase items in Facebook, Google make it easy to call your business from within the search results. We can expect to see more of this on a bigger, more extreme level.
Last year and for years before I’ve been shouting about how important video content is for a successful digital marketing campaign, and I’ll continue to repeat myself! But, we’re going to see massive increase in Live Video; Facebook has done it, YouTube is on it, and it’s only a matter of time before it becomes the norm to use live video as a marketing tactic.
Pokemon Go was a massive phenomenon and the boost that AR and VR developers needed. These location based games are great, especially if you have a physical shop, cafe or restaurant; work at getting your business listed as marker on the game and watch the footfall dramatically increase! More of these apps will be coming out in 2017, and I predict that developers will put in some system to allow you to list your business (possibly a paid feature?).
PPC (pay per click) advertising can produce a dramatic ROI, if done correctly. But as more and more businesses advertise, more and more consumers are tuning the ads out, like white noise! Native advertising allows you to “sponsor” a piece of content; a video from a large YouTube channel, a blogger with a massive following. You can expect to see systems and platforms in place to sponsor content easily.
2017 is looking really promising for MooMooSheep, having just moved into new premises off Skipton Road, we’re able to offer more services. With a boost in videos and animations, we’re able to offer custom, high quality animations and we’ll be looking to expand that even more in 2017. We’re also working with a very talented videographer, which gives us even more scope to create something truly unique for you.Check out our Animation show reel
We’re continually implementing modern web design trends into all our work, and you can expect to see the same high quality, creative work in our web designs in 2017.
In April, MooMooSheep will be 2 years old! So we’re looking forward to eating cake and having a massive party.
Finally, we’re really excited to launch a new product in the New Year. We’re not really allowed to talk about it yet, but we’ve had a lot of interest! Don’t worry, the new product won’t distract from our tried and tested high quality marketing that we currently offer!
